Chiropractic Care

Controlled manual force requires a trained chiropractor to perform such a task. This is a process that helps restore the motion between the joints that the body was not capable of restoring naturally. Here are some more details:

The human spine has three different layers which are interconnected. The outside layer is muscles, next are the bones and joints, and the inside layer is the nerves. When the stresses of everyday life affect the muscles and joints, then you have a back problem (read that as pain, stiffness, soreness). But when the stresses of everyday life also affect the innermost layer, the nerves, then you have a health issue whether you know it or not. When the third layer (the nerves) is affected, that’s when you can come down with organic problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, asthma, high blood pressure, hot flashes, just to name a few.

Adjustments, whether they are the deep force, manual type, or the more gentle type done with an instrument stimulate the nerves of the spine to reprogram the brain so that the brain then sends the correcting and healing message through the nerves to the offending organ, whether it’s a muscle or an internal organ. A chiropractor helps by using controlled force and energy to stimulate the nerves to reprogram the brain to get the muscles and organs to work properly. It’s that simple.

Benefits of Manual Chiropractic Adjustments
  • Relieves pain and lessens, if not eliminates, stiffness in the joint
  • Restores the body’s and joint’s normal movement and proper balance
  • Recover full range motion in joint
  • Provides fast healing and relieves discomfort
  • Revives the muscles and tissues, thus resulting in healthy blood and lymph flow
  • Allows organs to receive their full nerve

Before using medicines that may contain harmful substances or side affects to solve your discomfort, try having your health issues respond naturally through chiropractic care.

Instrument Adjustment

The Activator Adjusting tool, arthrostim and other adjusting instruments are specific low force chiropractic techniques used to adjust the spine. These instruments are electric or spring-loaded, hand-held mechanical instrument that provides a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. These instruments were specifically designed to deliver a controlled, light and fast thrust without undue strain to the patient. As a result, this specific system of adjusting restores proper balance, and does so with improved safety and comfort.

There are two main advantages of an instrument treatment. The first is based on the speed of the device. The instrument is so fast that the body’s muscles are less likely to tense up in response and resist the treatment. When any force, such as a chiropractic adjustment, intrudes on the body, muscles in the involved area are automatically contracted by a reflex mechanism in order to protect that area from the force. Instruments produces a thrust which is quicker than the body’s reflexes can respond. In other words, the thrust delivered by the instrument is so quick that it accelerates ahead of the body’s tendency to tighten up and resist the thrust of an adjustment. The lack of muscle resistance helps with the treatment’s effectiveness.

The second advantage is that the applied force is localized and does not add any additional torque or bending movement to the joint. In other words, the chiropractor can pinpoint the dysfunctional joint and apply the specific force needed to restore movement to the joint without subjecting the body to any extra forces. So when you combine the accuracy and the controlled light force, it makes treatments both effective and suitable for all types of patients including pregnant women, babies and children, athletes and seniors.
